BISP to Launch Digital Payments via EasyPaisa, JazzCash for Direct Transfer to Beneficiaries. In a groundbreaking move towards digital transformation, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has officially approved a new system that will allow beneficiaries to receive their Kafalat stipends and children’s education stipends directly into digital wallets linked to their mobile accounts. This initiative aims to eliminate the need for beneficiaries to visit banks, campsites, or retail shops, and prevent unnecessary deductions during cash disbursements.

The new system will roll out digital wallet payments via BISP’s existing partner banks, such as EasyPaisa, JazzCash, and other mobile account platforms, making it easier and faster for beneficiaries to access their payments.

How the New System Will Work

Under the new setup, digital wallets will be opened for BISP beneficiaries through banks already partnered with the program. Each beneficiary will be assigned a wallet based on the operational bank in their district.

For instance:

  • Telenor Microfinance Bank beneficiaries will receive payments through EasyPaisa.
  • Mobilink Microfinance Bank users will receive payments via JazzCash.
  • In areas where HBL partners with BISP, payments will be delivered through HBL Konnect.

Beneficiary Requirements

To avail of this new system, the registered woman must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a valid CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card).
  • Own a mobile phone.
  • Have a SIM card registered in her own name.

Payments will only be processed through SIM cards registered under the beneficiary’s name. Payments linked to SIM cards registered under someone else’s name, even if it belongs to a close family member, will not be processed. This policy is designed to ensure verified identities and minimize fraud.

Why Does This Matter?

The transition to digital wallets is seen as a crucial step in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accountability in disbursements. By moving payments directly to mobile wallets, the government aims to:

  • Eliminate long queues and reduce transaction delays.
  • Prevent unauthorized deductions or middlemen involvement.
  • Simplify the entire payment process for the beneficiaries.

Previously, beneficiaries had to visit designated shops or campsites to receive their payments, often facing long wait times and unwanted transaction cuts. The new digital wallet system is expected to be a game-changer, ensuring that funds reach the rightful recipients without delays.

When Will It Start?

The rollout of the digital wallet system will occur in phases. Some districts have already started setting up digital wallets, while others will follow soon. Beneficiaries will be notified in advance via:

  • BISP official numbers.
  • SMS notifications.
  • In-person visits to BISP offices or partner banks for account setup.

While this is a positive development, the full implementation of the system across all districts will take time. Therefore, the next BISP installment will still be processed through the old method, and digital wallets will be introduced gradually.

8171 Check Online CNIC & Survey Reminder

Beneficiaries are reminded to use the “8171 check online CNIC” method to verify their eligibility status. It’s essential to ensure eligibility through official BISP channels to avoid fraudulent websites or scams. Additionally, individuals who have not completed their dynamic survey must do so before the deadline, as failure to complete the survey could lead to disqualification from the program.

Expected Increase in Stipends

There are reports suggesting that from January 2026, the government may increase the Kafalat Program stipend by Rs. 1,000 and the children’s education stipend by Rs. 500. Although this increase is yet to be confirmed, it has been widely anticipated and would provide additional relief to beneficiaries.

Conclusion

The BISP digital wallet system marks an important milestone in the government’s efforts to modernize social welfare payments. The shift towards EasyPaisa and JazzCash as standard payment platforms reflects the government’s focus on technology, efficiency, and the dignity of recipients.
